Max Uy Announces Candidacy

I am announcing my candidacy for the Office of Sheriff of Montgomery County, Maryland. As the current Chief Deputy Sheriff, I oversee the daily operations of the Sheriff's Office, relying on more than twenty-seven years of experience in the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, while serving the residents of Montgomery County. I have gained significant experience serving in nearly every division within the Sheriff's Office and along with my active duty service in the United States Army, I am prepared to lead the Sheriff's Office and meet the future needs of the Montgomery County Community as your Sheriff.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is composed of incredibly professional and dedicated staff. All of the Montgomery County Deputy Sheriffs have received entry level police training at the Montgomery County Public Safety Training Academy and are certified as police officers by the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission. The Sheriff's Office SWAT team, K-9 explosive detection teams, and hostage negotiators serve and protect the County in cooperation with the Montgomery County Police Department. The staff of the Family Justice Center, in coordination with our community partners to include the Montgomery County Council, County Executive, and State's Attorney, provide a one-stop service to victims of domestic violence. Our deputies serve on major regional Federal, State, and County law enforcement task forces, including the U.S. Marshal Service's Capitol Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF), the Montgomery County Police Department's Firearms Investigative Unit and Gang Investigation Section. Additionally, the Sheriff's Office has assigned a Deputy as a full-time School Resource Officer at a Montgomery County high school.
